MARUKO NAKASHIMA
We were founded in 1957 in Akatsu in Tobu Ward, Seto City, Aichi Prefecture, a place synonymous with Seto ware. We believe in looking to the past to make new creations. Through the production of gorgeous ceramic pieces, utensils that make meals enjoyable and soothe the heart, and vessels full of style, as well as materials that take advantage of the warmth of the sheen, we are carrying on a pottery tradition with a distinct taste. We hope everyone regularly uses our ceramic ware, and we will continue to offer new forms of Japanese pottery that are imbued with the vicissitudes of the four season and place value on the gentleness of the artisans’ hands and the warmth of the soil.
